Females: What should i wear for an interview with a recruiter for an exec office job? i HAVE AN INTERVIEW TOMORROW WITH A RECRUITER FOR A JOB. CORPORATE ATTIRE IS ADVISED. SO I AM NOT SURE HSOULD I SHOW UP WITH A BUSINESS SUIT OR JUST DRESSY PANTS AND A NICE SHIRT?

• Don't confuse club attire with business attire. If you would wear it to a club, you probably shouldn't wear it in a business environment.

Wear a two-piece matched suit.
• Suit - pants / skirts:
Tailored pants suits are appropriate for women. Pants suits can be an excellent choice for site visits, particularly if the visit involves getting in and out of vehicles and/or the site is (or includes) a manufacturing plant or industrial facility. If you wear pants, they should be creased and tailored, not tight or flowing. If you are pursuing a conservative industry and are in doubt, observe well dressed women in your industry on the job, at career fairs, at information sessions, etc.

I think it sounds fine, if you are worried, take the jumper (sweater) off and just wear the shirt and pants. If I go for interviews I wear a pencil skirt (black or grey) and a white shirt which I usually tuck in and tights and flat black shoes. I never thought of wearing a suit or whatever because to me as long as you are dressed smart, your clothes are clean and ironed properly, your shoes are clean and polished etc then it shouldn't matter if you are wearing an actual matching suit. Also not everyone could afford a proper full on suit. Another thing also is people should dress smart and professional but also wear something which makes them feel confident and good. No use wearing a proper suit if it made you feel less confident and feel like it didn't suit you (excuse the pun) or something. For me a pencil skirt and a shirt is what makes me feel more confident whereas dress pants for example I wouldn't feel would suit me and I'd feel more uncomfortable.

If you've never seen a business suit or heard of one, it involves matching skirt and jacket, made of fine material.

For a job interview you should wear a dark colored suit like black, violet or navy blue. Avoid bold or bright colors like red, lime green or peach. Wear a light colored blouse under the jacket, ivory for instance.

You can accesorize, within reason, to add a slight splash of color, like with neckwear. Wear shoes and carry a purse that coordinates with the suit, nothing flashy. Jewelry should be muted. For earrings, wear small hoops or studs, nothing that dangles and may catch the interviewer's eyes while you speak. Wear no more than one ring on any finger, no more than two per hand (a engagement/wedding ring set counts as one ring).

The theory is that you want the interviewer to see your face and concentrate on what you have to say, not on what you are wearing.

Also carry some type of briefcase that looks professional. Use it to hold extra copies of your resume, a datebook, pen, etc.

I suggest wearing a buissnesss suit or black slack pants a top that covers you stomach and breast and a jacket. It is always better to be overdressed at the interview than to be underdressed. If you get the job you will see other people in the office and can dress according to what they have on.

I'd go with the suit. Recruiters tend to be a bit more casual than the "real interview" but if you want them to really sell you to the employer, you have to sell yourself to the recruiters (hence, the suit). If you want to dress it down, wear a simpler top with the suit or simpler shoes than suit-pumps. Good luck.

Any of the ones you stated are a good choice. Black, dark blues and gray or good colors. Matched suit jacket with the above is always a plus.
