I have a major problem with my Laptop. You can't use it for very long before it nearly completely shuts down, as in the computer, but everything on the scren stays exactly the same.

The odd thing about this situation, is that when it does this, the 'loading sounds' that you normally hear when you load something become rhythmic, and repeat the same beat over and over again. I'm guessing that my computer either has a bad bard drive, or that i have some sort of spyware on it.

What do you think? please help me

Either the computer is overheating or you have a dying hard drive. A tool for checking your hard drive is Spinrite 6

You can use system restore in windows XP

or use your emergency restore disk that came with your laptop

or reinstall windows xp

This sounds like you have a serious hardware problem. Without seeing the symptoms personally I cannot diagnose what might be wrong. I would suggest taking your laptop to a local area computer shop where they can attempt to fix the problem or to tell you if your need to buy a new computer.

From what your have said it sounds as if you have a bad Hard Drive. I have had this happen on several laptops and this is the primary reason that I never store crucial data on a laptop. If this is the problem the computer shop should be able to replace your Hard Drive and may even be able to recover some if not all of your data that was stored on there.

Good luck and I hope that you get it fixed soon!

It is strongly possible that your HD is going. I also have had to wipe my system recently because it was doing what yours is. It was not the HD. It was that my daughter had been going on sites that exposed the machine to all kinds of Malware. I had a Root Trojan. The Master Boot record was infected.

What I did was easier than trying to clean the boot sector. I booted the computer with the Windows Installation disk in the optical drive. I worked through the menus until I got to the partition management installation screen. Then, I dropped the partition, created a new partition and did a full format.

I finished the re-install and it was fine after that.

Ahh, I know that sound all too well...same thing happened to my Toshiba Lifebook about 8 months ago. Damaged hard drive.

I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this, but that disk is done for. You'll need to buy and install a replacement. If you're lucky, you MIGHT be able to salvage some data off that drive, but any file that existed in part or in full on a damaged sector is probably gone for good.
