they "can" see during the day, though not very well. bats use ultrasound to see. owls have HUGE eyes so they can pick up the slightest amount of light. but they are both nocturnal so they sleep during the day anyhow.

Bats and owls can see both during day and night.
It is just that they have far greater number of rods in the retina. Rods pick up intensity of light. During the day they find the brightness of the day too much(too scorching) to bear, and hence they close the eye and stay at one place and wait for the night when they feel comfortable and with the little light they are able to locate the prey.
For owl or bat to open the eye during the day is almost like your opening the eye in front of headlight of the car.

They both can see in the day or night, but both come out at night because the prey they eat are out at night. Most bats can see just fine, many have pretty good eyesight contrary to what most people think, but they rely a lot on echolocation since this gives them a more precise location of prey items. Owls have excellent vision as well, but rely more on hearing to locate prey precisely.

Owls are solitary, mainly nocturnal birds of prey. Although owls have binocular vision, their large eyes are fixed in their sockets and they are far-sighted, and are unable to clearly see anything within a few inches of their eyes. Their far vision, particularly in low light, is incredibly good, and they can turn their head 135 degrees in either direction; they can thus look behind their own shoulders
Bats are mammals most of which are nocturnal. Although the eyes of most bat species are small and poorly developed, their sense of vision is typically very good, especially at long distances, beyond the range of echolocation. Their senses of smell and hearing are excellent.
A nocturnal animal is one that sleeps during the day and is active at night - the opposite of the typical human schedule (diurnal). The intermediate crepuscular schedule (twilight activity) is also common. Nocturnal animals generally have highly developed senses of hearing and smell, and specially adapted eyesight.

Owls can see during the day, they are just nocturnal, or they go out at ight to ge food because they can see better than we can at night. Their day vision is fine.

Bats have poor vision in general. They navigate by radar, they send out high pitched sounds and catch the reflections of the sounds to know where they are. Their vision s no different during the day.

1.bats normally use ultrasound for measuring the dist. of a thing.
2.in eyes two types of cells are present-
rods-which help to see in dim light.
cones-which respond to the colors or we can say they respond in large amount of light.
thus depending upon which cells r in more quaantity the vision is defined. in case of owls rods cells r more so they hav better vision at night.

sorry idon't know but ican give the information about something bats cannot see it produces the ultrasounds thus it get reflex the sound and it can escape from the objects infront of them and they can move forward and owls are noctural animals they can see during the day time and night times

both these birds or one mammal have eyes which take in huge amount of light

the light is taken in and picture is created on the retina

so due to lotta light intake the picture is really bright and so even at nights they take more light in their eyes than other animals and still see normal coz picture created on retina now isnt that bright its just normal

rest bats even use radar which is on their nose to guide n hunt but owls use only better eye sight due that light thing i said

They are mostly nocturnal in nature meaning that they can function and see in the daytime but are usually only active at night. Their vision is BETTER at night because their eyes refract and reflect light in a way different than humans which allows them to use what little light is out there at night and they are able to see better...not only at night.
