Model ZWF1210W... help! My washing machine is just outwith the guarantee [always the way...:-(..] and it's acting up. When I turn the thing on, it acts normal for a while, and when it thinks I'm not looking, it stops, all the lights flicker and flash for a bit, then eventually it comes back to life, only to play the game for ten mins or so then back to square one.... nothing in the manual about this one. .... any bright sparks out there know anything?? .. I know I'll probably end up having to pay big bucks to have it looked at but any ideas in the meantime mucho appreciato!

Check your warranty, it may be for two years. If it has expired, contact Zanussi and complain that the machine should have lasted longer before any faults occured. Any appliance has to be fit for it's purpose, and one year is not enough. The sale of goods act will provide a longer time than that, irrespective of any warranty. You could also contact your nearest Trading Standards Office for help. I am assuming that there is a fault in the machine?? Have you checked that the plug is connected tightly and fully home in the socket??

Washing machines usually retain a little water, but you should check two things. Is the wate water hose positioned in such a way as to create a u shape? It should be fastened near the top of the machine at the back. Second, at the bottom front of the machine, there should be a drain off point for removing blockages. Sometimes these are hidden, but it you look at the section from floor to door bottom, you will find it is removable. Drain off water from here, remove blockage, refit cap. Put an empty wash to remove any drty water and you should b ok.

Thinking Superman not Sir Lancelot; same language - different accent. I rarely hire for repairs. Key word in your Internet help search is 'trouble shooting'. Hope this site eases your distress!

Check your filter.I thought timer had gone on my washer, wouldn't spin etc, turned out to be filter was blocked. This in turn would not allow pump to work. This then would not allow machine to spin etc,and all because the filter was blocked.
