Yes, this means you have a Readable-Writable DVD drive. Now, please be aware that in order to use this it sets aside, in what is referred to as a "staging area" the entire size of what you wish to burn. So, if you have 160 mb of material, you will have an equal amount of staging area, so you need 320 mb of space. That accounts for the space the materail is already taking up plus the additional space for the temporary staging area. It is very important to calculate your DVD space before hand too, as Windows currently does not do this for you and will only give you an error stating you do not have enough space, but not tell you how much over you are. In order to calculate this you will need to select all the items you wish to burn and then right click and go to the properties and on the General Tab is the total amount used. You will not find this information any other way, unless you use third party software program which provides that sort of information. If you only wish to use what Windows provides then this is the method of finding out the total size of what you wish to place on the DVD. Remember: CDs only allow for 160 mbs and that includes the space needed for formatting the disk.
Good luck and lots of success in your video burning endevours!

Yes. Your camera CAN make use of this drive. Just make sure that you follow the instructions provided by the software. Make sure you also know the number for the Camera's tech support if you have any issues.
Your computer probably also came with Nero, Roxio or Sonic or soemthing of that sort. Try playing around with those a bit. a DVD drive is GREAT for backing up data.

It sure does. You may need DVD burning software such as NERO or RecordNow, if you don't have it installed already. However, since you have a DVD-RW drive the burning software may have come with the drive and/or the computer. Hope this helps, good luck with your video archiving.
