Female guppies have a tendency to die about 3 years before the males!!!This tends to happen because females have to have fry every month.This can get quite tiring! Thats why they live and have shorter life spans! With that said females live about 3-5 years and males live 4-8 years!

Guppies can live a surprisingly long time. Properly cared for, a guppy reaching 8-9 years is possible. 5-6 years would be more common.
