I have a friend whose monthly period has been off track for a while. it will come on some months and other months it wont come on at all - or be real late. anyway, lately she has been feeling tired alot, breasts are very sore, and peeing all of the time. she took a pregnancy test last night and it came out faint pos. she went and bought 2 more tests - different brands and they both came back faint positive also. this morning she went to the health dept and had 2 tests done which both came out faint pos. the nurse told her she may or may not be pregnant and a blood test may be the only way to tell. she bought another test today and it came out very very very faint positive. she doesnt have insurance so she would rather not go pay for a blood test right now. what could this mean? please serious responses only! is she pregers or not?

It sounds like she is. Faint positive is still positive. She should get the blood test done so that the doctor will recommend the proper supplements and help her have a healthy pregnancy. If by some bizarre chance she's not pregnant, then the blood test will let her know that so she can stop wondering.

Also, she might get a better result if she waits a couple of days and tests again, since the amounts of the pregnancy hormone in her body should be increasing daily and will show up better on a pee test after a few more days.

when was her last period???
Home pregnancy test worked for me...i had six of those they were all positive..i went to the doctor they did a urine test and it came out negative the same as the blood test. Sometimes you need to wait a Little bit do do the blood test because of the level of hormones, i will recommend to wait.
I'm 25 weeks pregnant now even tough the doctor told me i wasn't pregnant funny huh???
so just tell her to wait a Lil more

i tested about 4 days before my period was due because i had a feeling i was pregnant and i got a very faint line ... a few days later I retested to confirm and low and behold ... the line was darker. I'm now approaching my 14th week of pregnancy. If there is a faint line, it is detecting the hcg hormone in her urine. If there is hcg in her urine ... she is pregnant. I know its a nerve wrecking time because you just wanna know ... but i think if you wait about 3 to 4 days and retest with the cheapest pregnancy test you can get ... you will have your very clearly positive result.

One...yes she is preg. it says on the box "even if one line is fainter than the other you are preg"
Two...You can go to a free clinic that will do the blood test for free or just wait another week. Your HCG levels double every other day so by weeks end the line should be darker.
Try going to the 99 cent store, buy their DARDEN brand preg test...it picks up a lower HCG level than EPT early. And its only a dollar. If it continues to get fainter(make sure shes taking it in the morning) she may be going through a miss carriage.

If it is even faintly positive she is most likely pregnant. It is easy to have a false negative, but almost impossible to have a false positive result.

She needs to go to the doctor and get the blood test however, because if she doesn't have health insurance she needs to get proof of pregnancy to try to apply for soem sort of aid as prenatal care is very important and expensive.

I was always told (my tests always were very faint lines) any line is a line. My proof a 16 month old son and 33 weeks pregnant today. Both of my faint liners.

I had 2 faint positives and I was pregnant. She might have a hormonal problem and could be that as well. She should see a Dr her health is first!

It sounds as if she probably is, so she should treat her lifestyle as if she definately is. Tell her to leave it another month and then do another test if she doesn't want to pay for a blood test. If this comes back positive then go back to the nurse.

I have 5 children and all my tests came back faint pos.Her best bet is to make appointment with ob Dr. and they can help her apply for medical insurance. In mass that would be mass health.Almost every state has insurance and help with cases like this. Most state insurance pays for everything with preg.and birth then helps with the medical care for mother and baby for a period of two years after baby is born.

Even a faint line in the pos. area is a pos. result as the hormone that the HPT tests for is only produced when you are preggo, unless she is taking a fertility drug.
