when i have said..'OH, I'D RATHER NOT RELIVE IT,,,IT WAS VERY PAINFUL AND HAPPENED YEARS AGO.."...the person ignores me and goes on and on...what is wrong with this person???....i end up walking away...DO YOU THINK SHE GOT THE HINT??? i only answered one question...WE DEALT WITH IT YEARS AGO....GOSH!!!

Sounds like she has definitely stepped into your personal space. Use the broken record treatment on her where you just repeat "I'd rather not relive it. It was very painful and happened years ago". If she doesn't get it still you may have to be really negative to her and tell her that it is none of her business and please don't bring it up again!

She was probably trying to empathize with you by understanding the situation. Sometimes talking about things can help out a lot more than you realize. It sounds like you are still harboring a lot of pain that hasn't been dealt with. You should talk to somebody about this if not "her".
