From my understanding of evolution, phyisical evolution is like this slow process of your body changing and adapting to your new enviroment, and mental evolution is basically becoming more intelligent and being more in touch with your emotions, even learning to be more tolerant of others and things like that, right?

So my question is, if evolution is supposed to make us adapt so that we can be the "best" people we can possibly be, physically and mentally...then why do so many people go through feelings of being lost and having doubts and not being sure what to do with their lives?...cuz shouldnt evolution actually be stopping you from feeling that way?

Its said to be about survival of the fittest...but shouldnt that mean that eventually there would only be "fit" people around, so to speak? And honestly, i cant see it happening that at some point in time, every human being would have absolutely no doubts or questions about their path in life..and things like that, you know?

Cuz in my opinion its really not a fault, its just human to wonder about life and everything.

Don´t you think so too?

And just one more question..sometimes people get caught up in taking drugs and they often regret doin that and they often say its cuz they were feeling sad and lost..so again, shouldnt the process of evolution stop you from feeling that "emtyness" or loneliness?

I guess you could say that each person goes through their own evolution of sorts. A baby can't start off, not knowing anything about how to take care of themselves or how the world works, and just grow up knowing the right way to do everything. Society as a whole experiences evolution of thought, spirituality, technology, science, etc, but individual people must go through their own evolution. We aren't born with complete self knowledge. It is through individual trial and error that we grow as an individual. And that's actually a really good thing about life. Life wouldn't be as fun or fulfilling if we didn't stumble a few times along the way.

Evolution has nothing to do with emotions. Evolution wouldn't make everyone happy all the time. Humans are so advanced, that, in a way, evolution no longer applies to us. If we were still lower life forms, so to speak, people with mental disabilities wouldn't last a year. But because humans have evolved a capacity for caring, the evolutionary "less fit" still survive, thus essentially freezing the process.

Feelings of being lost, or not knowing their place in life are physiological issues, not physical. Evolution gave us the ability to think, understand, etc. But it didn't give us the ability to automatically make us happy. In fact, that would be a disadvantage, since there would be no variation within the gene pool, something very necessary for healthy evolution.

your grasp on the theory is tenuous at best.

evolution doesn't work in any kind of goal directed way, as you have assumed. the theory states that mutations occur naturally, and that some of these mutations will prove advantageous to the survival of that individual, who will thus be more successful at passing on his/her genes. it's offspring will also have the advantageous mutation and thus will eventually become the dominant type of its species. the process is random. some mutations are disadvantageous. humans now mostly live within the protected confines of civilization in which we take care of the weak, thus they are not subject to predation, the chief mechanism involved in natural selection, which leads to the survival of the fittest you spoke of.

it is in this way that it is believed we evolved, over a nearly incomprehensible span of time.

For the most part, you are talking about growth, physiologic and psychic, not evolution. Evolution has no goals, any more than gravity has goals. Fitness is relative to the environment which is changing, and evolution is very often much slower than those changes.

All I can tell you is that I think any changes from the clean mind you have as a baby is due to environment, and choice. MOPO!
