Check your local Bookstore!
The atmosphere there is close to a classroom since most of the customers and workers want to learn and read!
Many Bookstores are looking to fill short day shifts since the majority of the part-timers are college students who can work evenings & weekends.
Plus think of the discount!

You could tutor or run a day care center or use your knowledge to go in entirely different directions.
Teachers pick up a lot of skills over the years. Determine what you liked to do best and see if you can turn it into a profitable business.
This requires a bit of market research to see what needs you can fullfill.
You can walk dogs, house sit, do freelance writing, run a website and sell your own or others products.
You can start an arts or crafts business, write books about your experiences or guides for parents or children.
You are only limited by your imagination.
Go to the link below to see how an ex-teacher, turned business woman, got involved with the crafts business and internet selling after being downsized.

If you are energetic, like to meet new people and like to have healthy skin, you should consider joining Arbonne. I know of many ladies that are consultants with the company that started looking for a part-time job and have been able to build a lucrative business working a few hours a week. If this is something that might be of your interest let me know and I can provide you more info.

Have you thought about teaching a few hours a week at Sylvan Learning Center? I loved it….and it was not stressful, offered some decent part time pay, enjoyed teaching kids who really needed it and the hours were good. They loved retired school teachers my center in Houston.

The colleges are always looking for instructors for some of their night classes. Look into that at your local community college. You can pick the subjects you want to teach and also the nights.

How about working at a non-profit? Somewhere like the American Cancer Society. That would be very rewarding in a non-monetary way.
