In episode three yoda goes to the wookie planet and fights with chewbacca. If I am not mistaken chewy helps him escape and yoda says something to the effect of I'll never forget you. What I don't understand is in episode 4 (a new hope) obi wan is on the falcon teaching luke the ways of the force when Han Solo starts poking fun about it. Why didn't chewbacca say anything to obi like "hey I knew your boy yoda, whats he been up to." or "shut up Han, I fought with the jedi once."
It may be that han is so arrogant and sarcastic that chewy didn't want to put up with his comments. But I would like to know what you think.
And before you start poking fun at me, I am a fan but do not dress up and go to conventions and stuff. Im just courious.

If you notice in Episode 4, Obi-Wan goes to Chewbacca before he goes to Han. Ben knew the score.

I see what your point is, but when I watched Episode 4 it always seemed interesting the way Ben looked at Chewie. He seemed to have some sort of a knowing look different than Luke. Even the way Kenobi referred to Chewie it seemed he had more faith in the wookie than Han. Yes it is probably me reading into it too much but check out that scene.

Chewie does not know Obi Wan before this that I know of. It was just Yoda on their planet anyway. He went there since he already had a good relationship with them as he stated.

Then when Ben did start training Luke, I think Chewie was busy flying the ship or something. I don't really remember him seeing them doing jedi stuff but I will keep a close eye the next time I watch those scenes.

How do you know if that was Chewbacca, remember there were a lot of wookie's. Maybe that was Chewbacca senior that fought with Yoda. Seriously, you must admit that the dialoge for all star war movies was not all that great. The great thing about the star wars movies is all the sci fi stuff and the special effects, that was the main attraction to Star Wars when we all saw it for the first time, we didn't care what Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia were saying to each other, we wanted to see the cool special effects.

First of all - how did Chewbacca's primitive grrs and grunts translate to a form of English that everyone could understand?
At least when Jabba spoke he had subtitles so we knew what the *** he was saying.

Chewie - we just had to assume he understood everything that was being said to him or maybe he did not want to let on how intelligent he really was. Or maybe he was sworn to secrecy about the whereabouts of the last remaining Jedi so that Luke and Leia could survive, grow up and restore balance to the force.

Just my theory. That is the best thing about movies - you can make up your own conclusion. Why does everything have to be by the book? The movies did not even come out in order - so you have to build from there. George Lucas did a great job and I was pleased with what he did.

i agree with someone there everyone thought that the Jedi was gone though we can also tell that chewy became real good friends with Luke though out the rest of them so maybe he did know that the Jedi was still around and he was making a way of telling Yoda that he was sorry for not realizing that they were still around cool question man thanks

Worshiping in call for human being wars would not make very a lot of expertise. Im not particular how strolling round in a typhoon trooper outfit and praying to a dvd field set on my residing room shelf is going to carry me in the route of god. The Jedi faith interior of in call for human being wars is nicely a very well rounded faith that seeks to unite technology with faith, the thoughts powers used by the masters practice that they have got a strong understanding of what god (the stress) easily is and a thanks to apply that. It shows an understanding of the interior mysteries lost to maximum mainstream religions today.

That's an interesting point. I never thought about that. You're right. I don't think that Chewy knew that Obi One knew Yoda. I also wonder why Luke was refered to as Luke Skywalker, but Laya was never refered to as Laya Skywalker. You have Anikan Skywalker, Luke Skywalker, and Laya. Why didn't she have a last name?

I just wanted to answer look4tay's question about Leia's last name; Since she was adopted by Senator Bail Organa, Leia would have had the last name of Organa as well, specifically, Princess Leia Organa.

You´ll never know if Chewbacca was trying to tell it to him, since he can´t speak like humans do, he can only make that kind of noises (euowww, hooooo and thinks like that), maybe he was trying to say that...
