I'm not sure if they are optional in the UK as I live in the states but to address your other concerns...yes they put a tube in, it's called a catheter and in essence it allows you to pee in a bag. When you are under anesthesia you don't have control over those things.

You need to give this VERY careful consideration before making this decision. A c-section is a major surgery, no matter how "routine" it may be. It will take longer to recover, you will need at least 4-6 weeks to heal, the numbness around the incision will take a year to go away, for some it never goes away. I encourage you to do a lot of research before you decide.

Why on EARTH would you want to have a MAJOR operation? Most women are scared about the birthing process, and millions of women do it. No doctor in their right mind would ever give you a c-section unless you REALLY needed it.

No, despite victoria beckham!! C-secs are actually very serious operations which can lay u up for weeks. the y do NOT give them out without a good medical reason i.e. breech baby etc. Sorry, u will have to do it the natural way
