After the first of the year, a lot of employers cut their employee's hours way back because of the budget. I work in retail part-time and I'm happy when they only schedule me for 4-hour shifts. If Panera is your only job and you need the $$, find another job in addition to Panera that you can work when Panera doesn't schedule you. By the way, I love Panera's French onion soup.

No it is not illegal to schedule you for a short amount of time, but if you feel he is being revengeful and only giving you a limited amount of hours you should report him. If he is doing it out of spite he was 'abusing his authority' that can be violating managing rules. Go to a higher source like the General Manager or area supervisor. Don't let him intimidate you and make you feel less than what you are. Or find another job where you wont have problems on hours and agitating bosses!!

I work at Pizza Hut and my hours are usually 6-9 hour shifts but sometimes on Mondays and Tuesdays(not busy days...) I get sent home early and work a 2-4 hour shift.
is it legal? Yes, theres not an amount of hours they have to give you.
I don't like it, what is it...$20 after taxes?

nope they can schedule you that shift. if you have a problem you have to talk to them. i work for panera and i know that from 7-10 esp. on sundays is a big rush time so thats prob. why they have you scheduled that way.

Yes it is legal to work only 3 hours a week. THere are also other laws your workplace has to follow if you're still in high school.
You can obtain those rules with a school administrator who provided you with a working permit.
