VERY normal, but call your doctor.

I had lots of spotting and even red bleeding at the beginning of my pregnancy, and I recently gave birth to a healthy baby boy!

Hello there. I would not go so far as to say it is normal. I would probably use the word common. Any time that you are bleeding when you are pregnant it is not a good sign. You do not say just how far along you are and you do not say whether or not it stopped. If it has stopped and was just an isolated incident I would not worry about it all. It could be caused by many things. IF however, it continues then there is more cause for concern. If it continues, or if it becomes more profuse, you should definitely get in touch with your doctor. What they will do does depends on how far along you are but in most cases there is little they can do. If you are very early on in your pregnancy there is nothing that can be done.
Lets hope that it was just a bit of spotting and it will go away.
Some women find that they have a bit of spotting during the time that they would have had their period, it is not harmful.
Take care dear and remember that anytime you have a question or a concern you can and should call your doctor! That is what they are there for and they will have answers that will make you feel better!
Take care and good luck,
Lady Trinity~

It isn't abnormal, but it is always best to call the doctor to make sure. My daughter starting spoting early in her pregnancy and they did an ultrasound and found 2 babies, only 1 baby didn't make it, so it may have been her losing the twin. The other baby, however, was born healthy and fine with no complications.
