You need to go to these stores:
www.funagain.com
www.gamefest.com
These are the two leaders in online board game sales.
Or go to www.simplyfun.com to find the best family board games and card games around. You can order directly on their site as they don't sell in stores.

Most thrift stores sell board games, as well as Wal-Mart, Target, and many many others. Ebay is also a nice place to find games. I don't know about dvd games, but if you Google it your sure to find something.

Wal-mart has an okay selection of both dvd games and board games. I really enjoy shopping at Target and Toys-R-Us for both. I definetly know that they have both since I have been there and both several games from them.

If you can overcome any phobia of online shopping, I would recommend www.thoughthammer.com
It has a very extensive range of board and card games grouped into categories with descriptions and reviews and the all important links to boardgamegeek.com
Prices are competitive with ebay stores (cheaper than funagain, com) and shipping within US is free for orders above $125.00.
Always check out their Dings and Dents section for cosmetically challenged units at big discounts.
Have made two major shipments with satisfaction.

Most Wal-marts sell both. You can call around to most of your discount stores and they can tell you what they have.
