It is well known that Saddam had multiple body doubles to avoid being assassinated, all loyal to the death. Do you think it is possible that one of them was assassinated in lieu of Saddam to appease the people?

I think they may have made a deal with him, just a theory. Come on, you really trust the US government THAT much? Nothing but lies...

No, they had checked his DNA when they captured him in the first place. So unless someone broke him out of jail and replaced him with a double it was him. Oh no!! Now I've started another conspiracy theory!!!

No, not a chance. He was in US custody, and Bush has been jonesing for his execution for a long time. I'm sure they tested his DNA, to be sure they had the right guy, just as they tested the bodies of his sons.

Also--plainly, no one was appeased! Well, only the puppet government. Even Iraqis who were not Saddam supporters were outraged by his death.

It could have been possible if he had been imprisoned, trialed and executed by Iraqi people..But, the truth is that everything was conducted by American Army, on the order of Bush.. And, everybody knows who were behind the mask..so no chance of a dummy execution...And, the person died with braveness and dignity could only be saddam, or stubborn..

Yes that is correct if you care to believe his wife of 25 years and his mistress of 30 years as well as other experts. Saddam, bin Laden and Bush are all very close friends for over 35 years.

You know, could be...did anyone else notice that not only did they use a scarf around his neck (why? He's being executed...why worry about "chaffing"?) and that the noose was near the front of the neck (not the rear of the neck as it is usually) and that neither his eyes, nor tongue protruded after the hanging (he looked asleep) nor did his neck look at an odd angle... Was this even a real hanging? I wonder....

i watched the execution footage that was shot from the gallery with a cell phone i thought it wazs a bit funny that at the moment he dropped the camera went black for about 30 sec. then showed a body laying on the ground that appeared to be saddam . who knows what happened while it went black..

i don't know if it's his double maybe we'll never know for sure. it did look just like him but hey never seem the man in person. also with all the technology you can do anything to photos these days. i guess you can say i don't trust the government for nothing. look what happened on 9-11.

Great question but no. Would make a good movie. Also, now that he is gone, I think they should come out of hiding and go on a lecture tour or write a book.

I so completely agree. I mean, one minute, they are all like, we are waiting to right here whilst Saddam would be achieved. Then, all of a sudden_BOOM! he's ineffective. i think of they enable him go or somebody died for him or some thing. I mean, they are former ruler is "ineffective". they might incredibly have pictures for every physique to ensure. Like they say, you gotta see to have self assurance it. i individually think of somethings happening. enable's see what happens.
