Cramping during pregnancy any time is normal. I had it from 4 weeks to now (almost 15 weeks). Sometimes the cramps are worser than other times. Cramping especially during/after sex is very common. Usually that is why pregnant women cut down on sex. It hurts pretty bad at times. However it usually hurts the most when having an orgasm. My husband and I have had to have sex sideways to prevent the cramps. Try different positions and don't be too wild since it will make them worse. When she goes to her doctor's appointment mention what happened just in case he might want to make sure she is okay. I really don't think it is a big deal other than you might have to cut back on having sex. You could also just let her do oral (on you) if she does not want sex. If she does want sex then take it slow and easy. Remember this is only temporary.

My OBGYN told me that if there's alot of cramping after sex its most likely because of the semen. Semen has a hormone / chemical in it that causes the uterus to contract. And this is why doctors like a women to have sex around her due date, because it can help her body go into labor. My OBGYN also told me that if it happens alot to lay low, so if I where you I would do the same until she sees her doctor again.
