probly because you have teammates that play a bit better than you, sometimes the best players get dropped once in a while and you just have to work harder and focus more.

You only get to play a minute? Usually favorite players are the ones that get to play. I'm sorry to say that if he doesn't play you then he doesn't think you are good enough but doesn't want to hurt your feelings by not playing you at all.
Ask him what you can do to improve...

just because your the coaches favourite player doesn't mean you are the best player for a certain position. ask is there any danger of you getting a game soon, or why does he keep subbing you

You are being schooled in patience and toughness. Being the favorite of your coach is not always the best position to be in. If he wanted to hang you out to dry he might leave you in there to get killed.

Why don't you simply ask him what the reason is for your infrequent playing time during the games.

Just ask him why you dont play much, he will probably tell you why or give you some sort of speech of why you dont go in much and blah blah blah.
