Yes,
But you have to take an Amtrak train from Detroit to Toronto and then a Via Rail train from Toronto to Montreal.Your best deal may be (if you can) to cross the border to Windsor and from there they are daily trains to Montreal, it actually goes from Windsor to Toronto and then Montreal but usually you don't have to change trains....
Be sure to check out how many stops the train makes...the travel time can vary between 9 hours to more than 11h...
you can check out the Via Rail schedule: http://www.viarail.ca/fr_index.html
and the Amtrak's one: http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Amtrak/HomePage
have a nice trip!

It's already been indicated that you can find your own way across the border. However the train service thereafter is reasonable and actually the Toronto to Montreal leg is quite good.

No, however, you can cross the border to Windsor, and from there you can take a train that will take you directly to Montreal. Good Luck!!

Yes. But you'll need to change trains in Toronto Union Station.
