Oh, by the way, your cell phone is dying and your car won't start...

I can feel my pulse in my throat as I struggle to see through the pouring rain, catching only glipmses of an outline in the window when the lightning flashes.

The Rolls of thunder vibrate my senses and leave me feeling the weight of my next decision tight against the back of my neck.

Do I run for the neighbors house across the street or do I trust the last bar of power and my unreliable cell phone service to dial 911?

In a split second I swing the door open to the car and Lay on the horn making a noise that is louder than the recent thunder clap, Knowing it will wake up the dog next door and bring the neighbors out so see what's going on, I dial 911 with my thumb as I run through the chill of the rain towards the neighbor's house screaming.

As expected the phone doesn't work and I reach the front porch and break out their window, so that even if they are not home the alarm company will send the police. Then I run for cover towards their garage and hide till I see the blue flashes of light.

I'd answer this roleplay question, but the premises are shaky. I'm nearing my home but my car won't start. Am I walking and my car is in the driveway and won't start? Why am I walking in this storm? I need more details. But to play along without the details...

I keep to the side of the road, crouching among the bushes of the neighbor's yard. Slowly I make my way toward home, my eyes never leaving the shadow. As I draw near I see that it is my wife...she locked herself out of the house and is now soaking wet. I hurry to unlock the door to let us in out of this nasty weather but my wet fingers fumble with the keys. Finally I regain control and open the door to let us inside where we get out of our wet clothes and into something dry and warm. Then I put some water on the stove and make us some Macaroni and Cheese for dinner!

WELL YOU BETTER HOPE YOU HAVE BEEN NICE TO YOUR NEIGHBORS GO THERE AND GET A WARM TOWEL AND A CUP OF( AT WORST OR AT BEST) SOME WATER AND DIAL 911 THE WATER IS FOR HELPING YOU TALK CLEARLY TO THE 911 OPERATOR! TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!!! YOU DON'T WANT TO SEND THE COPS TO THE WRONG HOUSE IF YOU DO THE BURGLAR COULD BE LONG GONE WITH YOUR STUFF! IF ITS A KILLER THE COPS ARE PREPARED FOR THAT!!! THE TOWEL IS SO YOU DON'T GET THE CARPET TOO WET AND CATCH A COLD! THEN DRINK SOME COFFEE OR TEA AND RIDE THE STORM OUT WITH YOUR NEIGHBOR I SUGGEST GETTING TO KNOW YOUR NEIGHBOR EVEN A LITTLE MORE THAT WILL PASS THE TIME UNTIL THE COPS ARRIVE TO SAFELY LET YOU IN YOUR HOUSE DON'T FORGET TO THANK YOUR NEIGHBOR BEFORE YOU LEAVE!!! I AM POSITIVE THEIR REPLY WILL BE ... ANYTIME!!!

I go into the house and tell my husband to quit trying to flash the neighbors again and to get his clothes back on.
