How can a J2EE professional come into the SAP world?

I am a seasoned J2EE professional with more than 8 years in it and want to move towards solutions development and am thus looking at SAP as it offers that and also helps you in getting a good contract rate. Is there any area in SAP where a J2EE professional would be a very good fit?

There are a lot of java related area in SAP. The portal or XI are both a good fit.
