At Download 2006, they said they'd be back this year with a new album and a new tour. They're pretty much the only band I still haven't seen, that I'd kill for tickets to (not literally, don't worry!) Anyone have any further info?

If they're coming back then they might come back this year. I would check out Ticketmaster regularly every now and again if they do come back and perform a gig in the UK. You could also check Metallica's website because they would have like bulletins for their band and maybe something like what you heard.
All I can say now is be patient and dont kill yourself now or else there could be some news about it the next day and that would be very unlucky XD lmao.
If they did say they were coming back there should not be a doubt as well or else there would be very unhappy metallica fans too =o

I was just on Metallica.com and they have no scheduled tour dates so far. I know they were supposed to be coming out with a new album that was being produced by Rick Rubin, but I haven't heard anything more about that either. I know it's been almost 4 yrs since their last album.

i thought they just did a tour? with trivium and bands like that? i pretty sure they just have but i might be thinking off someone else
