I hate that function. I had the same problem when I bought it new.
Well here are the steps.

1. Well first you need to put a blocked (R) movie in the system.
2. Play the movie
3. When the parental control menu comes up press Select.
4. Where it says enter password hit Select (dont enter anything for password)
5. It should ask you to delete password.
6. Enter 7444 (this is the master reset code)
7. Then hit X
8. Finally it will guide you to reset the code, I recommend "0000" just in case you forget the one you used "0000" isn't hard to remember.

This may not work, if not try looking for the PS2 manual online and it will tell you how to do it. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY.

There is a master code, just like a master key on a car, or a master code for a car or a pc or anything. Ask the person you bought it from.
Warning, if you hack that code, sony or whoever actually owns the Copyrite can shut that thing down and take you to court.

The ps2 master code is 7444 just enter it and you can reset to a code of your own or turn off the feature.

specific... you extremely can't until you be attentive to the password. My mom set mine. I took the PS2 aside and took the battery out, then positioned it lower back in. The PS2 has a battery that makes it so as that in case you unplug it, that is going to shop the time. locate it and take it out, and positioned it lower back in. :)
