apparently, according to the optician, I have a lot of these. They never bother me, but I've always wondered what they are and why they are there.....although I always wonder this once I've left the opticians!!

I've also had trouble reading small text that is on a white background. There is a permanent "spotlight" on a part of my eyeball. To describe it, it's as if I have a permanent flash from a camera on a small part of my eye. Annoying, but the optician can't explain it....

Sometimes they occur when you are tired or when you have been staring at the computer all day. They also can be a symptom of what is called Retinopathy of Prematurity which can cause some children and adults to go blind. Just rest your eyes and visit the eye doctor regularly.

They are bits of protein floating around in the aqueous humour (fluid) in your eyes. They are harmless and you don't usually notice them, unless you're staring at say a light blank wall or ceiling.

They are bits of pigment inside the eye, that break away and float about, and you see them as little dots in your field of vision.

I asked my optician about them, and it is natural for us to have them.
