1. most people dont even know that there is a difference between the iraq war and the war on terror (now being fought in iraq). many would say that iraq war was won by saddam.
bush correctly claimed victory a few weeks after the invation but this was utterly rejected by the media and their viewers and readers followed like sheep. it dosent seem to matter that we won every battle, captured their leader, brought him to justice and freed every citizen.
since liberals control the schools as well as media, our children may actually be taught that we lost the iraq war. this smoke screen is thick enough that nearly no one in america can see through it.
the iraqis have no doubt who won, but the americans have successfully been confused. just look at these answers.
if your scale had a zero i would say zero.

There really ought to be a public outcry at the lack of information about the war. Remember the first days of the war when all the talking heads were everywhere on TV? Where are the military experts explaining the strategy and the methods used to obtain our goals? The administration have done a remarkably poor job of explaining things to the public, who never let a lack of knowledge stand in the way of a strong opinion.
Bush supporters sometimes seem chauvinistic, and anti-war people seem unaware that loud public dissent damages the war effort and puts Americans at greater risk of harm.

If 1 being against and 10 being for the war I would rate the overall a 3 or 4.. It seems most people dont agree with it and dont seem to be on the same page as Dubya regarding the Iraq Occupation

1 being ignorant 10 being wise I'd say a 5. We were lied to. That's why there are a bunch of politicians now who wish they would have voted No on the resolution to go to war. Like Kerry for example. Also if Bush ignores the new report's recommendations the new congress will go ballistic IMO

0 - for idiots 10 - for the few who knew the war in IRAQ was a load of @#$%

I remember I was working in a bar/Italian deli in Penn. when the war was announced. All the yahoos at the bar started cheering. It was disgusting. Of course it's easy sit on your fat !@# on a bar stool and yell yippie, but if you were going to Iraq you might think differently. How can anyone ever cheer for war?
I could see going to Afghanistan after Osama, but how could you even cheer about that? People, our kids will die, those are the kind of people that think they are the "real Americans" I think they are a bunch of morons.

I would give it a 2 out of 10 in terms of participation. Many did not even pay attention to what was happening, and many were excited that a war was starting. We were fed bad information, and the whole situation was a mess. Unfortunately we're there now so we have to make the best of it.

We supported it when we thought it was for a valid purpose. When we realized we were mislead, we were angry. When they failed to adapt to changing situations and rethink military strategy, we were furious.

I'd give us about a 7. I would say higher, except for those that protest the soldiers. It's not the soldiers fault; it's the politicians.

By the way, I'm presuming that you don't equate response and support.

the whole thing was out of fear of Saddam owning WMDs. Did he? No. There are worse dictatorships out there. I guess it was only a coincidence that Iraq is swimming in oil
