Nancy is a pure politician and will get bogged down in the political mire that exists in DC these days. Do you really think she will get any of her agenda passed through the Congress?

It is clear to see that the level of ruthlessness Nancy employed within her own party is coming home to roost. The moderate Dems are swinging conservative while she continues to eviscerate them in favor of her more adversarial party cronies. It continues to emphasize the split within the Dem party as identified by Mario Cuomo. If the Dems are smart they will ask for forgiveness now and let Nancy run like the rabid liberal pitbull she is until the Dems decide to short leash her. In other words, no agenda of Nancy's will go through until she makes amends within the Dem Party and with her conservative Dem co-party members. Take heed if she doesn't that she won't last long and will cost them the White House.

I think they will pick the low hanging fruit first (raise the minimum wage, reduced rates on college loans, etc). Their ability to take on hard core problems such as social security, real political reform, a national energy policy will be limited by the presidential ambitions of several members of congress. They will not want to take on any controversial issues for fear of hurting their chances at the polls in Nov. '08. My prognosis: lots of talk, a few show pieces and little meaningful action.
