I know a few songs by that title....do u recall any lyrics?
One is by Freda Payne.. some of the words are below.
Now that you're gone
All that's left is a band of gold
All that's left of the dreams I hold
Is a band of gold
And the memories of what love could be
If you were still here with me

The wiki article on the song says it was written by Edythe Wayne and Ron Dunbar the song was offered to Payne.
It was covered later by Belinda Carlisle and Bonnie Tyler.
If you want to hear it, the 2nd link is to a YouTube video of Freda Payne and Belinda Carlisle singing it. Aah, the memories!

Belinda Carlisle, Freda Payne, and Mel Carter had songs named "Band of Gold." I'm not sure if they are the same songs.

are you asking about Gloria Gaynor and the 70s disco hit? Or is it Garry Lewis and the Playboys and "this Diamond Ring?"
