Your pills may not be strong enough. Talk to your OB GYN about the spotting. Also have her check for any other underlying issues like fibroids. I am guessing your pill is just not strong enough.

Why can't you get pregnant? I actaully was on the pill for about 5 years and I just had my first child 7 months ago. Its odd that your having spotting, but I would say just because you've been on the pill for 5 years doesn't mean you can't have kids (unless your doctor has said otherwise). I would say that if there is no way for you to have kids stop the pill. You don't want to harm your body. Although hormones are nearly harmless its a good idea to stop if you think you may want kids one day:-)

Being on the pill for 5 years is not 100% protection from pregnancy. Go to the doctor.

The pill is not 100% effective. Also it may not be working as well as it used too. See your doctor.
