amazed that they got it so right this time - i've even managed to die every now and then - in the others by just fighting all the battles offered your characters were so strong they were boring

FFXII was a really great game. To say it was the best of the series goes a little too far. I feel where XII was one of the best at gameplay and found the gambit system to feel a bit boring at times. You didn't have to think on the fly too much. Most of the time I could just let my guy go and they'd win. Once you had your guys buffed with protect/shell/bubble/brav/faith you were pretty much set. This is a flaw in all FF game in my opinion.
My only other complaint with the game was that the story was kind of lacking. I was interested in the characters, but I didn't have a gripping story line to keep me up at night wanting to know what is going to happen.
However, XII is definatly in my top 5 of the best FF games. I had a lot of fun playing it.

FF XII is good, and certainly a worthy try at something. But it plays like a single player MMoRPG. Like playing Final Fantasy XI alone.

I'd say from best to worst, probably FF 6, 7, 3 (DS), 10, 4, 5, 12, 9, 1, 8, 2, Mystic Quest, Crystal Chronicles (though single player mode at least, multiplayer makes it higher), 10-2.

That's just a girls opinion ;)

12 is in the middle, and all FF games are good. So that means that FF12 is still very fun.

in my own opinion i think that ff12 is pretty much the best one out at the moment. but i will admit, that they have had other good ones, such as ff7 & 8. but now, ff12 is the best one out. also the battle system of the game is much better...no unexpected battles.

I hate you!! I want X2!!!! I've wanted it since the beta was out.

The only one I ever played was FFX on the PS2 and I think it was one of the two best games ever created.

My two all time favorite games are FFX and Zelda: Ocarina of Time

I have yet to play it, but I'm still very loyal to FF7...I guess I will have to play to find out.
