OMG Yes. I went to the supposed best lady in town to get a spiral perm back in the late 80's. All I heard was how great she was and what a great job she did...not so much...here's what happened:
-she was half an hour late to start my appointment...you could see her across the street chatting to someone
-then she came in smelling slightly of booze but who am I to judge if some one has a glass of wine with their lunch
-wrapped my head WAY too tight...anyone who has had a perm knows it is supposed to be snug but not so my eyes are being pulled back
-when applying the solution she drenched everything I was wearing because she wasn't even looking where she was pouring the stuff
-she decided there wasn't enough solution so she put more on...this time actually getting it on my head
-set me up to set for the alloted 10 minutes
-then the phone rang....
-it was her boyfriend and she started yelling...she took her call to the back room where the yelling kept going
-the buzzer rang to let her know it was time to upwrap & wash out the solution...she was too busy freaking out on this guy on the phone and now she has locked the door to the backroom...trust me I tried to pound it in
-more time went by...the only other person in the salon was a Korean hair wash girl who couldn't speak english and couldn't understand my pleas for assitance
-as I am sitting there the rollers start to fall off of my head...hair & all
-now I'm P.O.'d
-my once mid-back length hair was in a pile wrapped up in curlers on the floor...I am in tears and then this lady comes strolling out of the back room
-get this...she started berating me for what had happened to my hair...she said I had to have some sort of chemical in it
So I took her to the Better Business Bureau and to court. Needless to say her business was shut down.
So yes I've had a bad barber experience!

Happens all the time. Normally they break out the 'thinning shears' and starts hacking before I can stop her. Or they just cut it way to short. Good thing about being a guy, I keep my hair short anyway and it grows back pretty quick.
My real beef is how they can never cut my sideburns equally. I always have one that is up above my ear and the other comes down low. I guess I have an uneven head.

Yep. About a year or so ago. I cried all the way home. Then I got my fiance to cut it--he was freaking out, because he didn't want to make me cry more. But since most of my hair was GONE, there wasn't too much more damage that he could do. It actually looked a LOT better once he finished with it--and he's got no experience with hair cutting!

Yes. I've had barbers mess up my hair as well as people at supercuts and such. That's why I go to one person 90% of the time now. She knows what I like and it's easiest.

No but once I had this black female toy poodle & took her to get her haircut & groomed. She looked like Whoopi Goldberg when I dropped her off, when I came back to pick her up, she was crying!!! I didn't reconize her either with a gottee & all. The groomer made her look like Sammy Davis Jr.! I threw a fit & almost went to jail over that & I didn't pay for it either. I told her if she was going to charge me for that grooming I would hairlip hell to make sure the groomer would pay for the therapy my dog & I would need after that trauma.
On another note when nobody was looking or listening, I informed the groomer that if she called the police on me, that someone would go to jail and someone would go to hell and I asked her to guess who would get out the quickest :) Nuff said!

Yeah, but he called himself a "hair dresser." Totally messed up my hair...cut it WAY too short...I was in tears!
What's worse, is this same guy has gotten fired from every place he's ever worked. My son went to his favorite place just a few weeks ago and there was this jerk again! We actually had to request that this guy NOT touch my son's hair...which perplexed the owner but she was fantastic and did my son's hair herself.

Did she? What! In the middle of her snipping away at my hair, she grabbed a pill bottle, popped a couple of pills, and said "I didnt get any sleep last night, me and my girlfriends were partying in New Orleans" I cried
So yes, it looked like a bowl cut...oh *****

I went to a stylist once who was lucky she lived. It was horrible. Thank god my hair was long enough to pull back in a ponytail until I could seek further follicular assistance. :)

No. I've never had a professional haircut. No one has cut it in over 10 years. I don't trust anyone.
