I was born at 32 weeks and weighed 8lbs. All my life I have been huge for my age (I was 6,2 240 when I was 16). But I still have alot of heath problems. Is this normal? Also what mental conditions go along with being premature? Sometimes I have some disturbing thoughts and hear voices in my head that make fun of me. Like if I do something that slightly embarreses me the voice will repeat what I said over and over unil i'm about to go crazy.

I used to think that people who said they wre hearing voices in their head were just hearing their own voice articulating their own thoughts; I know now that is NOT the case. My boyfriend experienced that for a whole year-- hearing voices in his head of people he knew when they were not around. He feels they were trying to tamper with his spirit through voodoo. I think that people do have access to the minds of others through mental gates, and I am not sure, but it could be that fact that being born premature affects brain development in some way and prevents some mental channels from closing all the way. This is all hypothetical, but if you are sure that the voices you are hearing in your head are not your own, then there is a problem. I hear other voices every once in a while-- I will hear someone call my name as if from a distance. I've awoke from a deep sleep after hearing someone call my name in my head. Recently, I heard the laughter of my nephew in my head and was nowhere around. I am not sure how that happened; maybe because I think of him so much. But once again, I do believe that you are hearing other voices. My boyfriend said that voices he heard did the same thing to h im-- antagonized him or repeated a thought or even answered him back aloud when he would comment about them silently in his mind; they knew his thoughts. The voices would articulate the weaknesses he felt about himself due to some unresolved issues of guilt or misunderstanding. During this time, he was also experiencing very disturbing thoughts, mainly about homosexual relationships. He felt his spirit being attacked by that realm and for a while had to battle thinking that he must be gay for having those thoughts. He understands now that no righteous form of sexuality would present itself to anyone by violently FORCING itself on someone mentally or spiritually. He was definitely the victim of some sort of unrighteous spiritual manipulation. You have to understand you existence as physical and spiritual man; understand that there IS a war for the mind and spirit of man and realize that you are stronger than any of your imperfections and not allow anything to control your mind by using your perceived weaknessed against you. We prayed a lot, did some herbal cleansing (a lot of spiritual attack comes through parasites and worms in the body-- you have to eat a healthy diet and cleanse); neither of us smoke anything or drink anything or do any type of drugs; he used to smoke cigarettes and weed a few years back but that completely ceased befor we came together. He believed that smoking week could have also played a part in the his mental doors being open to different realms. Many people experience this is some way when they smoke, they just don't know how to explain the physiological affects or they think the experience is "cool: because it is accepted by society. People don't understand that there is a reason why we are supposed to keep our temple clean and that societal culture and laws that dictate "everything that feels good is ok to do in the name of freedom" are strategically enforced to weaken people's spirits (through their own physical lusts) and render people more susceptible to spiritual attack. When the voices understand that YOU are stronger than they are, they will cease. When my boyfriend was hearing the voices, he answered one of them back in his mind and heard it say "oh my God, he can hear us". It is a war for your mind-- let them know they cannot win.

i'm speaking from experience.

make an appointment to see a psychiatrist ASAP. you are living with some form of mental illness. only a psychiatrist can make the correct diagnosis and prescribe a medication that WILL help you. i promise.
it's 2007. NO ONE should be living with emotional pain. it controls your life and sends to the brain disturbing thoughts, voices, and ideas. i believe that emotional pain is worse than physical pain. with physical pain, there is hope that it will go away. with emotional pain, hope is shot to hell. there is no escape route; absolute isolation, loneliness, despair, and fear.
i have to tell you this, in case you're entertaining thoughts of suicide. my psychiatrist once definded suicide for me as:
A PERMANENT SOLUTION TO A TEMPORARY PROBLEM.
your problem can be temporary if you lean on a doctr's shoulder and let him/her help to carry your burden.
you are an important human being. you deserve to LIVE a happy and productive life. there is help. PLEASE GO FOR IT.
not from a YA member, but, from a friend.

Hearing voices in your head sounds like symptoms of schizophrenia, which is a genetic disease. I don´t think it has anything to do with being premature.
