the answer is y

my explanation, hope it makes sense:

you are told:
15z=3y

divide by 3 gives you:
5z=y

you are told:
r=5z

Therefore:
r=5z=y
r=y

As R/5 = z
Subbing in sce eqn
15(R/5) = 3 Y
=3 R = 3 Y
=>R = Y

Divide the second equation by 3:

15z/3 = 3y/3
5z = y

But you also know r = 5z, and since 5z = y, r must equal y also.

r = y

I'm not sure how to explain it, especially on this, but... r=5z, then 15z=3y, so in that step you're multiplying 5z by 3, and it gives you 3 y, so dividing 15z by 3 would go back to 5z and dividing 3y by 3 would give you just 1y. so r=y

sorry i can't explain it better

r=5z and 15z =3y

u need to replace z in the first equattion with its value from the second equation (=3y/15)
that will be:
r=5*(3y/15)
r = y
and thats it

15z=3y divide both sides by 3
5z=y
r=5z
r=y
