A question concerning hitler and his mental health.?

Well i can not say i am an expert when it comes to hitler and the nazi party. But i know he was a very very intelligent man. And it bothers me when i hear of such an intelligent person commiting such atrocities. How could such a brilliant man be so racist and ignorant. These are trait's usually of weaker minded people. Who have been taught these traits during child hood. But im pretty sure hitler grew up in a jewish family am i right so that can not be the case. Do you think maybe he looked at jews as some people look at neo conservatives. Ignorant people that the world would be better off without. I feel this way about religion but the people it influences i would never feel any anger towards besides just disagreeing with them. Is it likely though it was not really against the jews but mostly against religion itself and he thought he was doing it for the better good. And that he was not just killing people for the hell of it.

I am pretty sure that he was an atheist although he controlled his follower with religion.So i do not think in his mindset it had anything to do with religious wars.

The idea of eugenics was not new to Hitler. His goal was to weed out those who he felt were weaker than the so-called Aryan race. People do the same thing with dogs creating canine pedigrees. He did not single out Jews, but included them in the entire package of lesser people. It was an easy choice because Christian Europeans often did not trust Jews and had a long-standing dislike for them. He included gypsies and people with disabilities as well. Polish people suffered great losses too.

No, he was not killing people for the hell of it, he had specific goals in mind. You also have to remember that extreme violence is part and parcel with gaining extreme power. Look at current history. Violence was necessary for Sharon, Milosevic, Arafat, Saddam, Bush. the list goes on. How about in Haiti where men with machetes would attack villages and lop off the heads of anyone in their way.

This kind of violence does not occur from leadership with weak minds, they have to be smart and power-hungry. Their followers, I would bet, were not as clever.

I'm no expert either, but I did do a bit of research on Mr. Hitler over the years. I think psychopath is a truly fitting description, for one. I'm also not certain he was truly of superior intellect, he was however highly driven and apparently had a magnetic character that drew people to him. Since anti-semitism in Europe has been around for so long, it was not unusual and certainly Hitler wasn't alone, in picking up anti-semitic views. Like a true psychpath, he really believed in what he said and he hated the jews from his very core. As for the jewish heritage, I've never found a clear reference to this anywhere in the books, though I did read that one of his grandmothers had jewish ancestry. His immediate family however was not, and he was raised with strong anti-semitic ideas. As for religion, he was very much against any religion and much of Nazi ceremony and pseudo-science was designed to displace religious practice. The state was to be the new religion. And while he killed a lot of people, his plan was quite succinct and not at all just for the hell of it. He really planned to remove any "inferior" peoples, whether jewish or otherwise. Remember, he killed 10 million people, 6 million of which were jews. That leaves 4 million others - Slavs, Roma and the like, bore the brunt of this number. There's a book, "Becoming Evil" which talks about Nazi atrocities in depth, since it's one of the best documented examples of normal people doing exceptionally evil things, and its worth reading. They imagined that he, with all his flash and irresponsable dazzle would restore pride back to the Germans. He blamed the jews specifically for its fall.

Not to mention he had an obsessive fettish with deformed people and midgets and his closest companions (servents and caretakers) all had some kind of deformity. He had intimacy issues and a violent streak toward women.
