Saddam was deprived of his post and was only a prishioner. He was lucky to be in the hands of American who after arresting him, treated well. There was no guarantee of his safety in Iraqi hands. He was ineffective. I think his death was pointless.

How many "pro", how many "pointless" ? Probably 50/50....At least in America. Rational conservatives see putting a mass murderer to death as just and expected. Liberals think it is wrong to execute mass murderers.....Basically 50/50, just like how America votes.
