ok , i assume you are already a licensed cosmetologist in your state. i work at a salon/spa with an older lady who works part time with us and one day a week at a nursing home. she said that she called several nursing homes in the area and asked if they had a salon on site and if they were looking for staff. she said about half of the ones said they were looking, and so then she set up an appointment to take a tour of the facility and meet the home director. i would call and ask to do this, even if they aren't currently hiring. take a copy of your resume, and a copy of your cosmetology license. when you meet and make a good impression they may keep you in mind in the future.

I was a contracted barber at a group home. You have to either know someone or you can go in person with you license and portfolio in hand.

I was contracted and showed up every Wednesday until the kids acted fool! It is a good way to make some consistent money and if your heart is pure, you can help some troubled kids.

Go to your local group home and ask around.

Good luckl
