I know this must be a really difficult decision, and there's no easy choice either way. If you keep quiet because you are afraid of what people will say, then you give them power over you anyway. If you keep quiet because you don't feel like sharing that part of yourself with the world right now, then more power to you.

Know, also, though, that if you do come out, you may be a powerful representation for others of the courage to be true to yourself. On the other hand, of course, you are not responsible for the mental wellbeing of everyone else, and it's not your job per se to be their advocate.

Just don't force yourself into the "don't ask don't tell" policy if that's not what's comfortable for you. You shouldn't have to compromise yourself to make other people feel comfortable with their own homophobia.

I wish you the best with whatever route you choose to take.

P.S. For all the people who say that you shouldn't "announce" your orientation, they tend to have no problem announcing their straight orientations--"Check out that GUY!" "Jessica Alba is so HOT!" coupled with plentiful PDAs in the hallways proudly proclaims "I am straight and I am proud!" If you shouldn't show off your sexual nature, they shouldn't either. That's just fair. And no fun.

It's none of anybody's business who you are attracted to. Would you go out of your way to tell everyone you were straight? Or that you had a crush on a certain guy? If not, than why should you go out of your way to tell them you are bi? If someone asks you, it's up to you if you want to be honest with them. If they don't like you just because you're bi, they aren't worth your time anyway. Congratulations on discovering yourself!!

You should only tell if someone asks, and even then you don't have to. If you are 100% comfortable with who youe are, then you have nothing to be ashamed about. If someone asks, go ahaed and tell them.

On the same accord, do not force your sexual lifestyle on others. If you feel that someone doesn't need to know, then they probably don't need to know.

Do your best to find the balance of being comfortable and happy with yourself, and remain respectful of others.

Godspeed.

Its none of their business. I went through high school without telling anyone. I never hid my feelings, people just thought I was cool and able to compliment other chics. LOL I'd tell my closest friends but only if you want to. Never hid who you are but don't feel its anyone elses business what you do in the privacy of your own home. (or a club bathroom) LOL

Only share personal information like this with your closest friends. Kids at school can be cruel. You don't need this kind of distraction from your studies! Focus on learning and propel yourself into a successful life where you can do anything you want!!!

Only tell those who are able to understand and help you. People will take advantage of you or use you if your bi is known.

I agree with the first answer, Bi=confused, And I am confused to why you want to put yourself through ridicule at your school, unless you like to be center of attention.
