I sorta lost interest at melee. Overtime I noticed that they were really using melee as a springboard to bring back a bunch of old, forgotten characters (I'm really thinking of the trophies here... that and the ice climbers). There's nothing wrong with classics, but at that point, it sort of made me realize that nintendo has been stuck with the same franchises for quite some time.
That's my rant.
I hope the new smash is good though. I played the original, so there's no way I can't be optimistic about the latest.

I think they should've kept Solid Snake out of it. It's supposed to be about (first-party) Nintendo all-stars for crying out loud! Also, I think wouldn't fit in even if he was a first-party character (he's just too serious for a fun, quirky game like the "Super Smash Bros" series).
The game does look cool and intriguing otherwise, though. So long as my gal Peach isn't jettisoned and Daisy (as her own character, not merely a Peach palette swap) and Lilina (from "Fire Emblem", the same one in the series Roy came from) aren't denied a spot in favor of Snake (or Sonic or any other third-party characters), that is.
