For example-the UC's (Berkeley, LA, SB, SD) or USC?
Right now I have a 3.75..do I stand a chance?
What else are they looking for besides GPA and the admission essays?

For UC campuses your chances vary depending on your major. For transfer information from Berkeley, see: http://students.berkeley.edu/files/Admissions/Transfer_07.pdf
UCLA, see: http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/adm_tr.htm
UCSB, see: http://www.admissions.ucsb.edu/prospective/index.asp?context=prospective_transfer
UCSD, see: https://tritonlink.ucsd.edu/portal/site/prospective-students/menuitem.24134797e5e2fd95a0b86710514b01ca?storyID=20885
The University of California also puts out a system-wide brochure for transfer students at: http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/educators/counselors/resources/materials/A4T.pdf
Read the information from each campus carefully, virtually all of your questions can be answered from the information provided by each campus.

Your GPA is competitive, just make sure you complete your transfer course requirements. And start thinking about how you want to structure your personal statement. The Berkeley transfer information mentioned above gives you guidelines on how to write your personal statement; read it carefully, the guidelines apply to all UC campuses.

I'm not that familiar with USC but I do know they take transfer students. Read the transfer information from the school carefully and talk to their admissions rep about how you can boost your chance of acceptance. USC transfer info: http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/admission/transfer/

It completely depends on the University. I tried to transfer to a semi-ivy league college and they wrote me a letter basically saying they don't accept transfer students. At all. I had a 4.0.

Just start applying. Now is the time to do it...the worst they can say is "no."

You are competitive. If you have some good EC's then that will be even better b/c they really value leadership and community service. If you dont get in you may want to look into the CSU's. There are great CSU's dont believe the BS. good luck. <3
