Well it depends......direction is all relative to a single point.
If they went west from London (for example), they would always be heading in a westerley direction, but technically, they would re-enter London from the east, but still heading west.
Time is relative too, depends how long they took to cicumnavigate the Earth in relation to the time of starting, ie if they left at a certain time from a certain place, how long did it take to get back to that same time zone?

No, when you go across the pacific the cross the International Date Line and instantly jump backwards (or forwards) a day.
For example, if you get on a plane in New Zealand and fly to the US you can get there before you set off. Confusing!
