I don't think its for sale. Something about it being disrespectful to the slaves, or something like that.

I also would love to have this but it was banned for the ridiculous reason that African Americans didn't like the way uncle Remus was played. I guess we all lost out it was a great movie I also saw it as a child that is one of the things wrong with this country they let a few warped people decide for everyone what a shame a great movie with lessons and morals.

Its available for purchase in DVD/VHS in Europe, Australia and Japan.
Because of some terms used in the movie (that would be deemed as racist today; however, back when the movie was made, it wasn't racist), the movie will be forever on the shelf for Disney, with no intentions of releasing it to the public for North America.
Funny, since all Disney Theme parks sport Splash Mountain....

Back in the 80's when Disney was really pushing their "Classics" movies on VHS, They made a statement that they'd "never" release it. It has been released in europe and Asia though. Its too bad, Uncle Remus was an early American Mother Goose/Aesope's fabels, part of our history.

You can pick up a British or European copy on ebay.
As for a US copy then the film is banned, so it would be hard and a bit pricey to find.
