I've been babysitting for a long time now,
and everytime I babysit someone new,
they ask how much my friends make an hour,
so they can determine mine,
but only 2 of my friends babysit a lot,
and they don't get paid,
it's just for their younger sibblings.
So how much an hour do you get paid to babysit?

Well it depends on the number of children that you have to watch. I think that on average babysitter of teenage years should be paid no less than 12.00 per hour/per child. Meaning that if they have 2 children then you should be paid 24.00 bucks per hour. The average couple usually leaves the kids unattended for about 4-5 hours so you should be making between 75.00 to one 150.00 per job again along the guidelines of how many children and how many hours. At first some parents might cringe at your price, but trust me some people pay more than that to have there pets put into cages so the ones who do go with your price will hold you in high regard because they know that there kids are being watched because they are paying top dollar.

Peace

I pay my babysitter 5 an hour if the kids are sleeping and 8 if not. Usually the kids are in bed so all she has to do is play on the pc watch tv eat and use the phone while getting paid..

It really depends on for how long and how many kids. I would say for 3 kids, you deserve at least $8-10/ hr, unless the parents want to pay one flat fee. The parents kind of want to be cheap, but good babysitters are not cheap!
