I have been listenig to bands like Slipknot, HiM, Fear Factory, Sepultura, Kittie, and other heavy metal music (which I really enjoy). But some people tell me that I listen to "devil worshiping" music. Of course I don't care what people think b/c I love the music, I just want some opinions.

Why do we call the hand sign "devil horns"?

1. Take a look at the lyrics. Do they glorify satan or smear Christians? If so, then you may not want to listen to it.

2. Listen to your spirit (presuming you are a born again Christian). If your spirit (some may call this your conscience) does not react when you listen to it, then it is okay. If you are affected, then you may want to find something else.

3. Ask yourself this: If you were in Heaven, Face to Face with God or Jesus listening to this music, would you turn it off. If so, then I would find other bands.

Slipknot, HiM, Fear Factory, Sepultura, Kittie are not even close to being Satanic. Like all absent minded religious freaks, anything they don't understand is 'of the devil'
If you want to hear some really amazing 'Satanic' Metal, check out Deicide, Emperor, Immortal, Old Man's Child, Mercyful Fate, & the mighty Dissection!!!
They all blow away Nu metal like SK and HiM

If cannot hear or understand the words to the music there might be a reason. I think its called backmasking, putting words in backwords. Not everyone backmasks, they simply don't care about the words in their music.
The human mind is amazing & fully capable of figuring out the backword words.
If the musician is a known drug addict, you can help them recover by not buying their music.
If you can understand the words in the music, its up to you to accept or reject the messages given through music.
There are some modern churches that often play their music very loud. The difference is the words in the music.
Choose you music wisely, the messages in music will stick.
I have heard music in a nearby car booming loud & they were listening to music that expressed extreme hatred & violence toward people of another race.
Some musicians misuse & abuse through their freedom of speech & destroy our country & peoples minds with their music's messages.
Some music CD'S have a paper inside that has the words to the music. Some tribes use a drum beat to "drum up spirits." which spirits they are calling or drumming up I don't know.

Most people usually label most kinds of rock music with Satan because of the heavy and weird sounds. Other bands, like Queen or Led Zeppelin are said to be satanic because of the "hidden messages" (Led Zeppelin - "Stairway to heaven", Queen - "Another one bites the dust"). Bands like Dimmu Borgir, Marilyn Manson shock people with their scary looks and aggressive lyrics (see Dimmu Borgir - "Satan my master", Marilyn Manson - "Antichrist Superstar"). To sum up, in my opinion, there is no such thing as satanic rock. You can listen to this music and be a good christian and you can worship Satan and listen to any other kind of music.

It's metal, that's all. If you really want to listen to "devil worship", listen to Deicide. I don't listen to anybody's opinion on what kind of music I listen to. If they consider what I listen to "devil music", then I just give them my devil-horns sign. Rock and Roll.

Music is music and that is it. People need to stop classifying it.
If you don't like it, don't listen to it.
By the way, those bands rule.
