Why do the Dems act as though they have won something? Whats with all of the backslapping and high fives? Do they not know that we just are seeking someone to run the government so its not dangerous to us. They were not crowned, they were just given responsiblity to do something, will they??

Yeah, I noticed that too. Every single Democrat wants the same thing? Did they all merge into a single amorphous entity with the same mind?

I'm also disappointed in the issues they think are most important to resolve- lower medication prices, higher minimum wage, etc. These are very simple-minded things, they're just feeding the demands of the masses. You think lower medication prices is a good thing? OF COURSE YOU DO! You probably know people struggling to pay. You want minimum wage raised? OF COURSE YOU DO! You'll make more money. You want student loan interest rates lowered? OF COURSE YOU DO! You'll save money. They're satisfying childish desires without addressing any big issues that are too abstract to represent immediate benefits to the voter. *I* certainly want all these things to happen--- but I'm also very concerned over things that DON'T have such an immediate and obvious effect on myself, like solving environmental, food, water, energy issues before they get out of control, developing actual STRATEGIES for economic improvement (not just throwing bones to the minimum wage workers, SC's, and college students), taking SENSIBLE action with Iraq, etc.

All the Dems are talking about doing is giving us bread and circuses. Even though I'll benefit from all of these things, I'm very disappointed and even fearful that they're making such petty changes sound like important solutions.

dems won control of the congress, something that hasn't happened in 12 years. I hope that enthusiasm is used to get things done in congress. Congratulations dems...but remember you are on notice, along with the rest of government

They did win something an election and control of the house and Senate. I think they will do well and hopefully keep Bush from doing more damage.

No way. Those liberals are too saddled with weakness and infighting to get anything done. They hate each other even more than they hate conservatives.

Then, when they are finished cat fighting each other, they are way too involved in foolish notions of social responsibility. They don't get that this country is all about savage self-interest. The only reason they won anything is people got tired of the status quo. They didn't vote for Democrats, they simply voted against Republicans.

Personally, I am going to wave my copy of Fountainhead high in the air. It's us or them. Me, me, me. To hell with you. Conservative greed forever!! Booh-aaaah!
