People choose to write or use the hand that is most dominant. My mum had to learn to use her right hand after so many made a big deal, but later found out that it makes no difference. Those who are able to use both hands almost equally are called ambidextrous. I've heard that rumor too, but it is just that. A rumor. I believe it stems from Right handed people oppressing Left handers ;)

When I was in the first grade in Catholic school the nuns taught me to write with my right hand by hitting the left with a ruler whenever I picked up the pencil or pen with my left hand. They did the same when I picked up my fork with my left hand.
It was once believed the Devil was left handed. Any one who was left handed and was controlled by the Devil. Things change. I am now write with my right hand but do several other things with the left that most do with the right. I really do not care. I do what is comfortable at the time.

I'm left handed and I'll tell You there is all sorts of things different about me, although I'd hazard that there's nothing wrong with me; but I am subjective; after all it is me I'm scripting about and I just adore me; in fact I think there is no one I love more than me; well maybe my Girlfriend!!!! I use all that though and so far it's allowed me to live a much better standard of life from what I've see other People living like so I'm cool with it. Hey, don't fear the Reaper; Ceaser didn't; nor the Sun; the Wind; or the Rain; we can be like they are!!!!!!

Definition and guide

* A left-hander is a person who is more skillful with the left hand than with the right: a left-hander will probably (but not limit to) use the left hand for tasks such as personal care, cooking, and so on.
* Writing with right hand alone does not necessarily indicate one's right-handedness. The world is right-handed-dominant, and many natural born left-handers were taught to write with their right hand. Consequently, a lot of born left-handers may write with their right hand but use the left for everything else.
* However, if a person writes left-handed then he is most likely left-handed.
* People who are forced to use their left hand because their right hand is not available for use (for example, due to injury or disease) should not be included on this list.
* Contrary to popular belief, left-footers are not necessarily left-handed, which causes much confusion when it comes to famous soccer players. For example players like Maradona are believed to be left-handed just because they use their left foot in soccer. There is actually a high percentage of soccer players that are left-handed while being right-footed such as Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Check the list of famous left handers:

Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Joan of Arc, Alexander, Julius Caesar, Napoléon Bonaparte, Prince Charles, Fidel Castro, Henry Ford, George Michael, Leonardo da Vinci, Tom Cruise, Robert DeNiro, Angelina Jolie, Bruce Willis, Oprah Winfrey, Valentino Rossi to name a few.

There is even a left handers day. 13th August

Well I write with my right but me three year old brother writes with the left and he writes from right to left. He also writes the letters backwards, like if you were to reflect them on a mirror you would be able to read them perfectly. I've heard that left handers look at life differently and that may be really smart like Leonardo DaVinci. My brother is starting to read already. Maybe there's something wrong with them, who knows.
