In 2005, Savage told a Missouri newspaper that he can't wrestle right now because of "health concerns," as he had apparently injured his back and shoulder blade.
Jakks Pacific tried to sign him up for the Classic Superstars line up only to be denied by Vince McMahon, despite the fact that he allowed them to sign a number of wrestlers on bad terms with WWE, including The Ultimate Warrior (signed twice by Jakks), Bruno Sammartino, The Honky Tonk Man, and even Bret "the Hitman" Hart. Savage remains one of the only big stars who hasn't signed up with Jakks for a figure.
Randy Savage in the WWE Hall of Fame: I “know nothing” as Sgt Schultz used to say. That’s a fact. I will stick with my story…Macho Man Savage deserves to be in the Hall of Fame and I am totally unaware of if or why there are personal reasons keeping Randy from being inducted. This will not be the hill I die on.

When Phil Hellmuth did an interview on Sirius Satellite Radio recently, he said that Savage will be on the next season of VH1's Surreal Life along with Playboy Playmate Tina Marie Jordan and rock musician Peter Steele. This has been verified by Savage himself in a press release, though VH1 has not released the official cast list yet.

Never say never with professional wrestling. Roddy Piper coming back to WWE after WCW and then TNA was a huge surprise. Especially after what he said about Vince McMahon during promos on WCW Nitro. Hogan and Flair both left WWF on lower terms in the early/mid 90's when they left for WCW but they were resigned. Hall and Nash both screwed Vince and the WWF when they left, but in 2002 they were resigned. Vince disliked Hall and Nash very much, but put it behind him.
As far as Randy Savage, at his age it's unlikely. And I know Vince isn't the biggest Macho Man fan. But Vince McMahon can't deny his contributions to the entire professional wrestling industry in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. Savage is a multi time WWF and WCW champion. Headlined many Wrestlemanias. I know that Vince McMahon will not pass on inducting Randy Savage into the Hall of Fame. 80's WWF is all about Macho Man and Macho King with the storylines about Miss Elizabeth, Sherri, winning Wreslemania IV tournament for the WWF title, headling Wrestlemania V with Hogan, the Mega Powers tag team, winning King of the Ring and becoming Macho King...he's all over the 80's WWF map! His accomplishments are endless. He also brought in the 90's by headlining Wrestlemania 8 against Ric Flair as WWF champion. HE WILL BE INDUCTED!!! Hell, Vince inducted Bret Hart, why not Savage??
As far as his active career, i doubt he is coming back, but never say never.

In 2005, Randy Savage told a Missouri newspaper that he can't wrestle anymore due to "health concerns", as he apparently injured his back & shoulder blade. He recently tried to sign a contract with toy company Jakks Pacific to create a figure for their Classic Superstars action figure line only to be denied by Vince McMahon, despite the fact that he allowed the company to sign up other wrestlers who are on bad terms with the WWE, including The Ultimate Warrior, Brunno Sammartino, The Honky Tonk Man, & Bret "Hitman" Hart. Savage remains one of the many big stars not signed with Jakks for an action figure of his own.
There have been rumors that he's joined the cast for VH1's "The Surreal Life" next season. This has been verified by Savage himself, but VH1 has yet to release any details of the official cast for the show.
