I gotta ask a few questions here...
First of all, what difference does it make if she is gay in the first place? Second, if she is gay, why does this mean you need to avoid her? Third, if you do "need" to avoid her, why do you care if she sees that you are avoiding her?
If you don't like this person or they make you uncomfortable for whatever reason - legitamite or not - why hide it? If you are not cool with someone being gay, own it, don't try to hide it. I'd rather hang out with a homophobe than a two-faced person trying to hide their true selves from me, personally. At least you know where the homophobe stands.

Do you think every guy you meet is trying to sleep with you? Are you that hot??
If not, then don't worry about it. Chances are she knows that you are straight, especially if you are so scared of gay people.
You can tell if she is gay by either asking (you know, it's ok to ask... it's not like asking if she has a disease or something). Or, if you see her being romantic with another girl... that's a pretty good sign.
If she hits on you... you can easily just tell her that you don't swing that way... but you should be flattered.
If you avoid her, she will know... and you will look like a homophobic idiot. Don't do that.

Why do you think that she is gay? I hug and kiss (on the cheek) my gal pals occasionally, but I am far from Gay. She may or may not be, but if she decided she is that is no reason to avoid her. She is still the same person that you liked before, just with a different sexual orientation.

The word "Lesbian" is printed in very small print under her left earlobe. It's the word "Gay" for gay guys.
Why would you want to avoid her? Do you have a hard time resisting the charm of lesbians?

Well usually people don't walk around with giant "gay" marks on their forehead for all the rest to see. Its just with who they go to bed with, Does it really matter to u? The odds are that even if she's gay, she won't just immediately hit on you. She may be sharing a bed with a woman how horrible i surely wouldn't want to go near her.
