One of the things that makes GOODFELLAS such a great movie is that it's all true -- Henry Hill was a REAL person, not just based on a real person like Scarface was. The movie isn't just about violence or crime, because the story is about a guy who didn't really belong in the mob anyways (being half Irish) and would later testify against his adopted family to save his own ***. And it's all true. Plus the long take as they walk through the Copacabana is one of the most famous single shots in cinema history.

Godfather. I think Goodfellas was ok. But I didn't feel a strong enough connection to the characters to really care if the goodfellas gang bought it or not.

I would say Godfather is the best gangster movie ever made. I don't know how people can respond to this question saying they hated the movie because of the violence. They were gangster movies about the mob life. There is going to be violence. That's like watching a porn and getting upset over the sex.

Ok, I love GoodFellas. But most people would say The Godfather. Oh, you can't leave out Scarface.

I would pick Goodfellas because it's a great f--kin story for one. Then its a true story and the godfather is to long and has to many boring moments and its fiction. Who could every beat out Nikki and his brother being buried alive in the dessert by his own homies that he ran with for years.

I would pick Goodfellas and Casino!!! I absolutely loved Ray Liotta in Goodfellas and Joe Pesci in Casino.
