1. FIRST OF ALL YOU have to know your own
A B C D of the mind!
2. Feeling empathy on others pains and problems as your own, is first to start with.
3. At the same time you shall not engross in it but proceed further to cure their mental illness in the way of a balanced warrior in a battle field!
4. Observe the events around you, and the psychological cause at the start and effect at the End.
5. Seek for the blessings of a good Guide-Guru in this field.
6. Weed out your negatives and Seed in the wanted Positive attitudes.
And finally a joke!
You need not 'break in to the field' and be broken ever, instead of that, immerse in to that vast 'Ocean of Mystery' and be dissolved in to the Ever lasting Beauty!

You will need a PhD, unless you want to starve. To get a PhD you will need superlative grades.
To test your "soft skills" make a tape that says the following, "I am too depressed to get out of bed, and I don't know what to do, I just don't care anymore". Make the tape into a continuous loop so that it plays over and over and over again, without ever stopping. Practice giving the tape-recorder therapy and empathetic understanding every day, eight hours a day, for 6 months. If you still can't wait to give therapy and empathy to the tape recorder for another 35 years, you have what it takes to be a therapist.

your bachelor in psychology is going to cover a great array of classes (including those you stated) besides as statistics and medical study skills. in case you visit any college's internet website and consider their psychology branch you may probable detect a pattern curriculum. mine secure elementary psych, character, human progression, statistics, study, social psychology, well-being psychology, organic and organic psychology, an internship, between others. while you're interested in working as a clinician you will get a grasp's degree in psychology or counseling. i did mine in counseling which prepped me to grow to be a marriage and kinfolk therapist. as much as now as being a psychologist, you will desire a Ph.D. and you'd be able to pass right this moment right into a application following undergrad or get a grasp's first. from very own experience and commentary, having a grasp's (and the experience featuring it) facilitates lots. i'm at the instant engaged on getting a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology (as against medical Psychology) and plan to license as a psychologist. wish this facilitates. reliable success!

u need to see a person from inside. not only to see how they see other people. to see how what's not present also motivates them. if a person confuses another for one of his or her parents (unconsciously), there are really two people motivating his or her actions. psychologists need to appear to see in others what those people can't see themselves.
whether this makes psychologists brilliant or self-centered is hard to know.
