I have this huge History project in which I decide on Canada's National Identity. At first thought, peacekeeping popped up. I decided to choose this topic as my theme.

Now I need three reasons or events to prove why one of Canada's national identities is peacekeeping. Can someone just briefly help me out with this?

Off the top of my head I can think of a few. One is of course our current role in Afghanistan and the other is the fact that our miltary could not possibly be anything BUT peacekeepers based on the current federal budget for the military! Another point is that I don't beleive we are as invested in controlling the production of oil out side our own country, so we don't have a reason (as much as the US does) to use the excuse of 'spreading democracy' to control other countries resources.

Another point you can consider is the need for sheer numbers of military personnel needed too 'invade' another country. We just don't have them! I like to beleive we are not a violence based country and so the attraction to the military is not there. I mean, instead of going to war to gain our independance, we politely asked! Haha AND got it without bloodshed. Haha!

There are canucks and hosers. There are additionally the French conversing Quebecois, who're in many situations seen phags. and then there are the Inuit up North. They frequently shop to themselves. There are additionally countless close by tribes who're taken care of like airborne dirt and dirt. There extremely isn't lots cohesion or national identity, different than in step with danger while it incorporates the Olympics. the destiny does not look stable for Canada. they are destroying the atmosphere up there with the mining of oil from tar sands. and that they are uploading further and further immigrants from international, extra desirable complicating the ethnic makeup of their "united states." All this may well be a recipe for disaster. Quebec has been attempting to secede from Canada. that could desire to provide you some indication on how lots cohesion and "nationhood" there is.

1.'They havent been involved in a war.
2.' They dont get in any body´s bussiness.
3.' They are "open" to the rest of the world´s culture.
(As Ive heard in Toronto its very multicultural and multiracial city)
4.' The goverment supports legal immigration by providing scholarships and fair laws and rights, give opportunities and life its not as expensive as in another countries.
#This last point I say it from a Mexican point of view. The Canadian gov. usually goes to our universities to offer us a "better" life in this country.
