I'm soon to become a father, and I think 'Bertie the Kipper' is a good name for a daughter. I would insist on people using the full name at all times.

I'm sorry but if you will insist on people using the full name at all times, it won't be very convinient for the little girl. Can you imagine how much people will tease her at school? Have you ever heard the song called A Boy Named Sue? If you haven't you should! The song has a happy ending but let me tell you, real life isn't like a song!

LOL. Not that its not a 'cute' name...for a toddler...but, Bertie the Kipper might not like being referred to as a fish when she is in high school. You wont be able to "insist" everyone all of the time. I would only keep that as a "love-nick name" between Dad & Daughter.

My opinion of Bertie the Kipper isn't a good name maybe if you wanted that as a nickname. Otherwise stick to a cute and unique name. Here are some suggestions if you need help.

Morgan Elise (Morgy)
Amiya Nicole(Miya)
Kennedy Marie(Ken-Ken)
Elesha Noranne

I think it's a brilliant name! I'm in the same boat and I'm torn between 'Banana' or 'Orange' (Chris and Gwyneth already got 'Apple'), and 'Satan Bless Thy Humble Servant'. If I go with the latter, I'm with you - it has to be the full name at all times.

This may change if I can steal your idea ...
